Be advised that our hiring process is approximately 4-6 weeks (time will depend on background investigation). The hiring process has several steps to complete.
Supervise inmates in the St. Joseph County Jail in accordance with established policies, regulations, orders, and procedures by performing assigned duties.
- Good writing skills to create clear reports
- Strong verbal communication skills to interact with inmates and coworkers
- Leadership skills to maintain order and control
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts or longer. Overtime is available
- Sound judgment skills to make good decisions in high-stress situations
No experience needed.
H.S. or GED required.
No Felony convictions.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $52,000 per year starting
*Raise at 6 months and 1 year.
