Well established Pain Management Clinic looking for qualified Medical Assistant to work part time/full time position in Boerne/Schertz, TX. Some travel between locations required. Medical Assistant with front and back office experience preferred.
Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for the routine patient care supportive duties to assist provider and/or clinical coordinator in the care of patients and ensure clinic runs smoothly. Also responsible for some administrative and front office tasks when necessary.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Answering high volume of phone calls (front and back office)
Scanning, printing, copying, Scheduling (when necessary)
Greet patients Verify information on patient medical records
Assist provider in a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
- Taking and recording vital signs
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients
- Preparing patients for examinations and procedures
- Assisting the physician during the examination and procedures
Promote patient/family understanding of the educational content and his/her involvement in the plan of care, and document in patient record.
Prepare patients for x-rays, tests and procedures.
Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the Clinical Coordinator
Assists in storing and stocking of supplies as directed and analyzes work area and makes recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements.
Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician.
Documents patient care records and other forms according to clinical policies and procedures Accurately advises others responsible for care of the patient about the patient's status
Assists in the discharge of patients following evaluation by provider

Required Education and/or Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent
Clinical/patient care experience or willingness to learn.
At least one year in direct patient care experience is required
Knowledge of medical terminology
Strong computer skills, ability to type with accuracy
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
Good Communication Skills
Preferred:
Two years medical office experience and one year PAIN MANAGEMENT experience. College/business courses
EMR experience
Patient care experience
SOME TRAVEL REQUIRED
