Bonus Compensation:
- $2,000 bonus for new hires! ($1,000 paid after 90 days of employment and $1,000 paid after 6 months of employment.)
- Up to $200 weekly bonus for perfect attendance! (Dependent upon shift and hours worked; paid bi-weekly.)
Scope of Role:
This role is key member of our production team responsible for a variety of food packaging activities for quality jerky and meat stick products.
Hours of Work:
- Monday - Friday
- 1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
- 2nd Shift: 2:30pm – 11:00pm
- May be required to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays, up to 55 hours per week, due to fluctuating business needs. The company provides as much advanced notice as possible when this occurs. Employee may consent to work up to 60 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Transporting bins and bags of finished smoked jerky and cooked meat sticks.
- Cutting meat sticks when required.
- Loading packaging machine hoppers with finished products ensuring continuous supply.
- Inspect finished products for accurate weights and sizes, identifying any foreign materials or contamination.
- Optimizing processes to reduce waste.
- Ensure accuracy in packaging, verifying products match packaging (flavor, size, count, etc.).
- Inspecting packaging for accuracy and quality (label placement and legibility, seal quality, hole punches, tear notches, and zippers).
- Following all safety policies for personal safety of self and team members. May require personal protective equipment based on work assigned.
- Following Good Manufacturing Practices for the quality and safety of food products, including wearing a smock and hairnet in production areas. Requires removal of jewelry and cosmetic accessories (false eyelashes, artificial nails, etc.).
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Regularly use hands and arms to reach, handle, and operate equipment and tools.
- Frequently communicate with team members and hear verbal instructions and alarms.
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and move items up to 10 lbs.
- Frequently lift and move items up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the ability to see clearly at close and long distances, maintain peripheral vision and depth perception, and adjust focus as needed to safely perform job duties.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to hot, cold, wet, dry, and slippery conditions.
- Frequent contact with raw meat products, animal blood, and related sights and odors in a food processing environment.
- Working around production equipment with moving mechanical parts.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to perform work of a physical demanding nature.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Food manufacturing experience highly preferred.
