Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other large commercial vehicles to transport freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across local, regional, or long-haul routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and proper securing methods.
- Transport a variety of cargo including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and freight requiring specialized handling.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Assist with route planning to optimize delivery efficiency while ensuring compliance with load limits and safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license, including familiarity with manual transmissions.
- Knowledge of operating various types of trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Strong driving skills with a focus on safety, load securement, and route driving efficiency.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment; experience with freight handling is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and interacting professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks independently.
- Experience with driving tractor-trailers in different environments, including refrigerated transport or specialized freight.
