Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Fleet Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our asset division's trucking fleet of 75+ trucks. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and profitable freight operations while leading dispatch personnel, supporting driver retention efforts, and driving operational excellence.
The Fleet Operations Manager will supervise the flatbed dispatch team, provide backup support for pneumatic dispatch operations when needed, oversee basic safety and compliance functions, and execute strategic initiatives directed by the General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of a fleet consisting of 75+ trucks.
- Manage and lead the flatbed dispatch team while supporting pneumatic dispatch operations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), weight laws, and company safety standards.
- Monitor fleet performance, utilization, revenue per mile (RPM), and profitability metrics.
- Analyze routes and operational efficiencies to maximize revenue and reduce costs.
- Manage driver performance, engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain company drivers and owner-operators.
- Support and manage owner-operator lease-to-purchase programs.
- Assist with accident investigations, insurance claims, and safety-related matters.
- Monitor and control operational expenses while maintaining service excellence.
- Review and manage P&L performance, budgets, and cost-control initiatives.
- Execute projects and operational initiatives assigned by the General Manager.
- Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies that align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Oversee daily fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling, dispatching, maintenance coordination, and driver management.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, FDA regulations (if applicable), and other relevant safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage logistics related to freight movement, supply chain coordination, and transportation planning to optimize delivery times and reduce costs.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics; analyze data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and risk mitigation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards, FDA regulations (if applicable), and transportation-related compliance requirements.
- Proven expertise in logistics management, supply chain coordination, and freight handling.
- Experience in fleet management software systems and transportation management tools.
- Minimum 5 years of transportation, logistics, trucking, or fleet management experience.
- Experience using Samsara for fleet monitoring, compliance, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and DOT compliance.
- Knowledge of transportation insurance claims and accident management.
- Understanding of state and federal weight laws.
- Experience with cargo control and load securement requirements.
- Strong background in flatbed transportation operations.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Experience:
- Transportation, Logistics, and fleet management: 3 years (Preferred)
- fleet monitoring, compliance, and reporting: 2 years (Preferred)
- flatbed transportation operations : 1 year (Preferred)
