We are a cutting-edge non-traditional CPA firm seeking a Full-Time EXPERIENCED Bookkeeper/Accountant for the following position:
Job Summary:
CCD’s Bookkeeper position is responsible for assisting the firm’s clients with cleaning up, organizing and maintaining their books in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop). This role ensures that each client’s books are accurate, current and ready for review by CPAs or client management. The Bookkeeper is detail-oriented and able to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously while upholding client confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Clean up and reconcile historical accounting records in QuickBooks
- Perform monthly bookkeeping for clients, including but not limited to: Posting transactions, Bank reconciliations and adjusting journal entries, Monthly EFTPS, Monthly Sales Tax, Quarterly Sales Tax, 941s/TWC, 940s, 943s, W-2s, 1099s
- Review and categorize income and expenses in accordance with US GAAP and tax standards
- Set up and maintain accurate chart of accounts tailored to client business types
- Collaborate with tax preparers to ensure accurate financial statements for year-end reporting
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or irregularities in financial records
- Assist clients with QuickBooks questions, setup and basic training as needed
- Maintain documentation and workpapers to support accounting entries and reconciliations
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding their financial data and bookkeeping status
- Correspondence and Email Management: Monitor and manage personal email communications, flagging priority messages and ensuring timely responses, assisting other staff members when needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in public accounting
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop (certification a plus)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced dynamic team environment
- Professionalism, dependability and integrity
- Ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Education and Experience:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred
