To provide first-line supervision to custodians in the night cleaning operations.

Leadership: Abide by the work rules and set a good example. Schedule and coordinate the work of one or more groups of Assistant Building Attendant Leaders and Building Attendant II teams. Maintain order and discipline. Receive and schedule work per client instructions and provide client feedback. Manage performance through observation, communication of goals, and standards. Ensure employees comply with policies, procedures, work rules, and SOP.

Administration: Prepare documents such as: Key Logs, Security Logs, Time Reports, FAMIS, First Reports of Injury, Inspection Reports, Supply Orders, Attendance Records, Training Records, Performance Records, periodic and annual Evaluations, New Employee Orientation, etc. in accordance with organizational practice and procedures. Provide timely notice to management on matters of concern as indicated by supervisor and/or SOP.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that services and event setups are delivered per schedule and/or work order. Conduct inspections of buildings; comply with procedures and standards; maintain and submit accurate paperwork. Conduct and document inspections and corrective action. Ensure timely reporting, submission, and follow-up of building maintenance and custodial issues. Provide timely and effective responses to client complaints (including off shift visits, when necessary).

Train employees on cleaning, work procedures, safety, policies, and work rules using both classroom and individual training methods. Direct quarterly rotation of and training for specific BAII/ABAL duties, including Restroom Specialist, Light Duty Specialist, Vacuum Specialist, and Utility Specialist. Attend and participate in training. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of records. Conduct employee orientation for both new and current employees. Meet training deadlines.

Safety and Repair: Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain safe working conditions. Report and correct unsafe conditions and repairs to the BSS, FCMS, and FAMIS with detailed documentation. Ensure preventive maintenance and inspections follow SOP. Keep custodial lockers free of unauthorized products and compliant with the Authorized Products List. Organize and respond to floods and emergency clean-ups. Operate custodial equipment safely.

Security: Secure all doors and arm alarms per procedures. Follow building and room lock/unlock schedules. Manage keys, access cards, and alarm codes. Report security concerns to UTPD. Maintain and conduct quarterly equipment inventories, ensuring proper security. Report any loss or damage immediately to UTPD and management.

Emergency cleaning including removal and cleanup of blood borne pathogens. Reports repairs as needed. Schedules and staffs events. Holds meetings with staff. Other related duties as assigned.
Two years of experience in custodial maintenance work.
High school graduation or GED.More than two years of experience in custodial maintenance work. Some experience in the supervision of custodial maintenance work.
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident,reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
