Under general supervision, provides reference and readers advisory services; assists customers with specialized library operations; and performs other recurring Library duties.
Basic knowledge of information-finding strategies.
Basic knowledge of automated circulation system functions.
Basic knowledge of, and familiarity with print sources, online catalogs, databases, CD-ROM sources, and remote information access sources.
Basic knowledge of how library materials and information sources are organized.
Basic knowledge of Dewey Decimal System classification and alpha-numeric filing system.
Basic knowledge of and familiarity with the library collection; literature of various subject areas, both fiction and non-fiction; and, authors and titles, both current and standard.
Skill in making simple arithmetic calculations.
Skill in cash registering and handling of monies and balancing accounts.
Skill in utilizing Windows-based software.
Skill in adapting to changes and upgrades in computer software.
Skill in utilizing basic word processing and spreadsheet software.
