Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or seniors in a residential setting
- Assist with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by following established protocols and guidelines
- Promote independence and respect individual rights and choices
- Document and report any changes in residents' condition or behavior to the appropriate supervisor
- Assist with transportation needs, including driving residents to appointments or activities
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care practices
- Familiarity with medication administration and basic medical procedures, such as taking vital signs, is a plus
- Ability to lift and transfer residents using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with disabilities or seniors
