Job Summary
Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Forklift Operator/Warehouse Worker, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient warehouse operations. This energetic position involves operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, to load, unload, and organize inventory. You'll be instrumental in maintaining a safe, organized, and productive environment by adhering to safety standards and warehouse management protocols. Your expertise will help streamline order picking, shipping and receiving processes, and inventory management to support our distribution goals.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently for loading, unloading, and transporting materials within the warehouse
- Perform order picking using barcode scanning technology and manual methods to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing deliveries
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs on forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Manage inventory levels through accurate data entry into warehouse management systems (WMS) and conduct regular stock counts
- Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents and injuries
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas, stacking pallets safely, and ensuring materials are handled with proper manual techniques
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts (including reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks) and other material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and lift trucks
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory control procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines
- Basic math skills for measurements, counting inventory, and verifying shipments
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and equipment operation
- Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment repairs and troubleshooting forklift issues
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution environments is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently
