We are seeking a friendly and organized Host to join our team and ensure our guests receive a warm welcome and exceptional service.
Job Description: As a Host at Zest Sushi and Small Plates, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and managing reservations and seating. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth flow of service and maintaining an organized front-of-house environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Reception:
- Greet guests warmly and promptly upon arrival.
- Manage reservations and walk-ins, ensuring efficient and accurate seating.
- Provide guests with menus and inform them of any specials or promotions.
- Seating Management:
- Coordinate with the front-of-house and kitchen teams to manage table availability and wait times.
- Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortably seated.
- Monitor dining room activity to anticipate and address guest needs.
- Customer Service:
- Answer phone calls and handle inquiries or reservations.
- Assist guests with any special requests or accommodations.
- Resolve any guest issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Front-of-House Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized host station and entrance area.
- Ensure menus, promotional materials, and guest supplies are well-stocked and presentable.
- Assist with light cleaning duties, such as tidying up the dining area and restocking supplies.
- Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist servers and other staff during busy periods as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Knowledge and Promotion:
- Stay informed about the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Promote daily specials, events, and promotions to guests.
- Provide information about the restaurant and its offerings to enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a host or in a customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Familiarity with reservation and seating management systems is a plus.
- Passion for providing exceptional customer service.
