The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for providing clinical leadership and oversight of all patient care services, ensuring the delivery of compassionate, high-quality hospice care that meets regulatory and agency standards. This role directs and supports the clinical team through recruitment, orientation, training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management while fostering a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
The DON oversees the planning, coordination, and evaluation of nursing and interdisciplinary clinical services, ensuring continuity of care and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and agency regulations. Additional responsibilities include assigning and directing clinical work, addressing employee concerns, resolving operational issues.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas (required)
- Minimum of one (1) year of RN leadership or management experience
- Hospice experience strongly preferred; home health experience considered
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of hospice regulations, quality standards, and patient-centered end-of-life care
- Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and promote a supportive, compassionate work environment
