The Registered Nurse (RN) will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, including conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing personalized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.
Requirements:
- Must meet and maintain any additional Life Support requirements defined by the clinical area:
- Critical Care/Intermediate Care Unit - Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
- Emergency Care - ACLS & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
- Oncology Care - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
- Women’s Care - Perinatal departments; Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) within 6 months of hire.
- Inpatient Pediatrics - PALS within 90 days of hire.
Experience:
- Must meet and maintain any additional Life Support requirements defined by the clinical area:

- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient medical records management.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays across settings like assisted living or home care.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and laboratory procedures for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Demonstrated competence in critical care procedures including intubation, IV infusion, catheterization (urinary or central lines), and sterile processing techniques.
- Background in specialty areas such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), nephrology (dialysis), infectious disease care, or neonatal/pediatric intensive care units (PICU).
- Strong understanding of nursing fundamentals including vital signs assessment, anatomy and physiology knowledge, medication administration, and aseptic technique.
