We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our healthcare team in a flexible capacity, available for both part-time and full-time roles. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients of all ages, including children and geriatrics
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and DEA regulations
- Provide psychotherapy, counseling, and behavioral health interventions tailored to individual patient needs
- Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment plans
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and medical records management
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies
Requirements
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid licensure in the state of practice
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient management
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and monitoring for adverse effects
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms to deliver remote mental health services effectively
- Strong understanding of healthcare diagnosis codes such as ICD-10/ICD-9 for accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to perform physical examinations when necessary and conduct comprehensive patient assessments
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on empathetic care delivery
Preferred qualifications include experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or ICU environments, familiarity with behavioral health treatments like dermal fillers or Botox treatments (Botulinum toxin), knowledge of Workers' Compensation law, hospice & palliative medicine practices, trauma center experience (Level I or II), and expertise in pain management. Additional skills that enhance your candidacy include proficiency in CPT coding, medical imaging interpretation, case management experience, and familiarity with advanced nursing procedures like IV infusion or venipuncture.
