American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele (Orthopedic Spine) night shift position requiring at least 1 year of orthopedic experience and SC or compact RN licensure.

Work in a 26-bed adult orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries such as laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
-
Unit provides integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support services
-
Patient diagnoses include Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE
-
Performs special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-Cath care (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips

Patient ratio of 1:5-6
-
Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend requirement, totaling 6 weekend shifts over the contract
-
13-week assignment length
-
Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks

Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs, limited to areas with documented competencies

Uses Epic EMR

Active SC or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted

Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
-
Minimum 1 year of orthopedic experience required

Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
-
Dysrhythmia certification preferred
-
Prior charge nurse experience preferred

Teaching hospital experience preferred

Community hospital experience preferred

Provide direct patient care on an orthopedic spine unit specializing in post-surgical and telemetry monitoring needs

Facility is a regional community teaching medical center and Level I Adult / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, the only one of its kind in the Midlands

Hospital features 641 licensed beds with advanced specialty programs in cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services
-
Orientation occurs every Monday, along with an annual compliance requirement
-
Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
