Overview
We are seeking a versatile and skilled General Handyman and Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our building interiors and exterior facilities. Your expertise will help maintain a seamless environment by performing a wide range of repair, installation, and troubleshooting tasks across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC systems, and general maintenance. Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical work including repairs, installations, and troubleshooting using schematics and electrical equipment such as ohmmeters and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Perform plumbing system maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal operation of all water supply and drainage systems.
- Maintain HVAC systems by diagnosing issues, repairing components, and ensuring efficient climate control throughout the facility.
- Execute carpentry tasks such as building interior structures, maintenance painting, and general facilities repairs to uphold safety standards and aesthetic quality.
- Use hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete maintenance projects accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect facilities equipment including electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and other mechanical systems; perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Read schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues with electrical or mechanical systems effectively.
- Lead small teams or coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs or projects while ensuring safety compliance.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for accountability and future planning.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal requests promptly and professionally while maintaining a positive attitude.
Skills
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of electrical equipment repair, schematics interpretation, PLCs, and use of testing tools like ohmmeters.
- Mechanical expertise in plumbing system maintenance, HVAC repair (including HVAC system troubleshooting), welding, carpentry, and building interior maintenance.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical devices essential for repair work.
- Ability to read technical drawings including schematics for electrical wiring or mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of Facilities Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) practices to ensure operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Leadership qualities with experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff during maintenance tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in building interior maintenance enhances your versatility on-site.
- Familiarity with plumbing system repair techniques including leak detection and pipe replacement.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation troubleshooting is a plus.
- Ability to perform maintenance painting to uphold facility appearance standards while completing repairs or renovations.
