Job Summary:
Our family is looking for a caregiver for primarily weekend night shifts and possible other shifts for our elderly parent in Sherman, Texas. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and observant person to fill this position.
Job duties and qualifications will include the following:
- Ability to work weekend night shifts but open to possible other shifts.
- Help client with morning and bedtime routines, including bathing, dressing and grooming.
- Safely assist clients in and out of bed, chairs, or wheelchairs, and help with safe walking and navigation.
- Ensure walking paths are clear and provide physical support during middle-of-the-night occurrences.
- Ability to quickly respond to medical distress or urgent situations.
- Provide assistant with administration of medication as outlined in the care plan.
- Monitor vital signs and activity and report any changes to the family.
- Engage in conversations and provide a comforting presence.
- Prepare light meals and ensure the client is hydrated and well-fed.
- Grocery shopping and errand runs.
- Keep the living space clean with light housekeeping duties.
- Must be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50lbs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional personal caregiving experience.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.
