Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast POS, ensuring prompt delivery
- Upsell menu items and wine pairings to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Manage guest inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure overall guest satisfaction through excellent customer service
- Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures in accordance with health regulations
- Assist with bussing tables, setting up dining areas, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments with a strong background in serving and guest relations
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS or OpenTable for order processing and cashiering
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly attitude that fosters guest loyalty
- Experience with food industry tools including food preparation, food industry terminology, and basic math for cash handling
- Previous host/hostess or nightclub experience is a plus but not required; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential
