Job Summary
STX Civil is hiring an experienced CDL Asphalt Distributor Truck Driver / Operator for roadway and highway construction projects.
We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded driver/operator with experience operating an asphalt oil distributor truck for tack coat, prime coat, seal coat, and asphalt emulsion applications.
Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt distributor truck safely and efficiently.
- Apply tack coat, prime coat, seal coat, and asphalt emulsion at required rates.
- Load, transport, and apply asphalt oil/emulsion as needed.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain driver logs and required DOT paperwork.
- Work safely around live traffic, paving crews, heavy equipment, and hot/asphalt materials.
- Keep truck clean and assist with basic maintenance.
- Support the crew on the ground when needed.
- Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and project requirements.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or B.
- Tanker endorsement required.
- Hazmat endorsement strongly preferred; required if hauling materials that require placarding.
- Current DOT medical card.
- Acceptable MVR/driving record.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with DOT drug/alcohol testing requirements.
- Minimum 1 year asphalt distributor truck experience required.
- Experience applying tack, prime, seal coat, or asphalt emulsion on roadway projects.
- Must be reliable, safety-minded, and able to work as part of a crew.
- Willing to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel to job sites as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in Texas weather and wear required PPE.
- Basic mechanical knowledge preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
