Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to join our healthcare team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions. Responsibilities
- Monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery phase.
- Assess and document patient condition, vital signs, and pain levels.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license eligible for Illinois practice.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
- PACU, Critical Care, ICU, or Emergency Department experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
