The Opportunity
Metro Star is seeking an experienced, driven Property Manager to join our centralized management team under our Scattered Site Management System. This is not a traditional single-property management role.
In this model, two Property Managers — Partner A and Partner B — operate from a central office and share responsibility across a portfolio of properties. You will work side-by-side with your management partner to deliver seamless operations, exceptional tenant experiences, and strong financial results for ownership — all without the inefficiency of siloed, property-by-property management.
What You'll Do
Tenant Relations & Leasing
- Conduct tenant screenings, credit and background checks and lease generation
- Handle tenant communications, service requests, lease renewals, and policy enforcement
- Engage tenants on unresolved rent collection matters professionally and promptly
Financial Oversight
- Oversee rent collection and processing; monitor delinquency and follow up accordingly
- Assist in preparing the annual property management budget and entering approved budgets into Yardi
- Track expenses against approved budgets and review and approve invoices
- Provide financial reporting and backup support as required by ownership
Maintenance & Operations
- Supervise the Maintenance Team and coordinate deployment of staff to work orders and scheduled maintenance
- Manage preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Solicit contractor bids, administer vendor contracts, and approve payments
- Identify capital improvement needs and develop budgets for ownership review
- Support human resources activities for maintenance team hires
Compliance & Administration
- Maintain accurate, organized records — leases, inspections, compliance files
- Enforce property rules and regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws
- Support risk management practices and company emergency procedures
Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner closely with your fellow Property Manager to share information, provide backup coverage, and solve problems collaboratively
- Alternate monthly property inspections and prepare consolidated inspection reports
- Prepare and deliver quarterly reports covering operations, financials, leasing/marketing, and systems performance
- Participate in quarterly formal review meetings with the Executive Managing Director, Sales Manager, and Accounting Manager
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of property management experience
- Some experience in Yardi or comparable property management software
- Working knowledge of Connecticut landlord-tenant law and fair housing regulations
- Demonstrated ability to manage a maintenance team and vendor relationships
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off (PTO), bereavement leave, and holidays
- Pension plan with company contributions
- Supportive, locally based leadership and a culture built around growth and respect
