Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, water safety practices, and emergency response procedures
- Manage class behavior effectively, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all participants
- Assess individual progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
- Maintain a safe aquatic environment by enforcing safety rules, monitoring participant behavior, and responding swiftly to emergencies
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop new programs and improve existing swim curricula
- Communicate clearly with participants and their families about lesson goals, progress, and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience teaching swimming or water safety classes, with classroom management skills to handle diverse groups effectively
- Strong communication skills to instruct confidently and foster a supportive atmosphere
- Knowledge of adult education principles as well as childcare practices for young learners
- Ability to work with students of varying ages, skill levels, and backgrounds in a professional manner
- Certifications such as Lifeguard Certification, Water Safety Instructor (WSI), or equivalent are highly desirable
- Experience in tutoring or working in educational settings is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to maintain safety standards while delivering energetic and motivating lessons
