Description:
The Executive Director of College Academic Affairs provides leadership and oversight for a major academic function within the college (e.g., graduate admissions, undergraduate admissions, academic advising, or academic program administration). The Executive Director supports academic quality, ensures compliance with accreditation and university standards, and advances the college's mission of student success and faculty excellence.
1. Provides leadership and oversight of a major functional area in the college (e.g., graduate admissions, undergraduate admissions, academic advising, or academic program administration), ensuring smooth and effective day-to-day operations.
2. Develops and implements operational strategies to improve efficiency, service delivery, and student experience while aligning with institutional goals.
3. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and university academic policies.
4. Manages budgets, staffing, and resources for the unit, exercising sound fiscal responsibility.
5. Supervises, mentors, and evaluates professional staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and high performance.
6. Collaborates with faculty and college leadership to support curriculum planning, program assessment, and implementation of academic policies.
7. Directs admissions, advising, or other student-facing services to ensure alignment with student success and timely progression to degree.
8. Prepares reports, accreditation documentation, and data analyses for senior leadership, accrediting bodies, and state or federal agencies.
9. Represents the college on university committees, task forces, and external professional groups as assigned.
10. Identifies and addresses operational challenges, recommending process improvements and best practices.
11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
