Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems).
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting with dental instruments and materials.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Review patient medical records for accurate documentation review and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing support and reassurance as needed.
- Maintain a sterile environment by following strict infection control standards and using appropriate aseptic techniques.
- Stay current with advancements in dental terminology, medical coding, and industry best practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in the region.
- Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic environments with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control procedures, and medical imaging techniques.
- Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently to optimize patient flow and comfort during procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes relevant to dental practice management.
- Experience with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and maintaining clinical supplies is highly desirable.
