Registered Nurse (RN) preferred.
LPN with CNA teaching experience will consider.
CNA Instructor – Part-Time/Per Diem Northwest Care Academy – Keizer, Oregon Northwest Care Academy is a small, private CNA and CMA training school seeking an experienced RN instructor. Primary Schedule Teach the 37-hour CNA didactic/classroom portion. Approximately one class per month.
Teach up to four hours per day Additional hours may be available for CNA skills lab, student checkoffs, clinical instruction, or CMA classes Instructor.
Expectations The instructor must be able to: Teach from the approved PowerPoint presentations and curriculum Expand on the material using professional knowledge and real-life long-term-care examples Explain topics clearly rather than simply reading the slides .
Keep students interested and involved through questions, examples, discussion, and review Prepare students for quizzes, exams, skills practice, and certification testing Speak and teach confidently for up to four hours per day.
Maintain an organized, professional, and supportive classroom .
Evaluate student understanding and provide additional instruction when needed .
Required Qualifications Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license.
Must meet Oregon State Board of Nursing instructor requirements Previous teaching experience required Long-term-care experience required CNA training or nurse aide education experience strongly preferred.
Strong communication and classroom-management skills Dependable, organized, and comfortable teaching adult learners.
