Histotechnician - Full-time - 4:00 PM To 12:30 AM Shift:
Compass Dermatopathology, the nationally recognized leader in the accurate diagnosis of skin diseases founded by acclaimed dermatologist and dermatopathologist Antoanella Calame, M.D., is seeking candidates for the position of Histotechnician (Full-time - M-F 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM).
This role will play an integral part in the process that ultimately allows Dr. Calame and Laboratory Director Christof Erickson, M.D. to provide the intense level of microscopic diagnosis services demanded by some of the country’s most respected dermatologists.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares tissue specimens for routine and special procedures to confirm a patient diagnosis.
- Performs complex histological procedures, records and analyzes data, and maintains and repairs instruments.
- Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks, including embedding and cutting of dermatologic specimens.
- Loads digital slide scanner.
- Works under general supervision.
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Job Requirements:
- A strong demonstrated work ethic.
- A willingness to learn and grow.
- B.S. degree in Biology or Chemistry with 3+ years of experience in the related field.
- 3 + years of experience in the related field.
- Previous histology experience is an absolute requirement.
- MUST be able to work 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM Shift.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
