Summary
The Assistant Site Manager is a member of the Field Operations team, supporting safe and efficient yard operations at a given customer site. Partnering with the Site Manager, this role supports operations through equipment checks, safety compliance, and maintenance escalation. This role also reinforces high service standards through people and team development. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, team-oriented operator who can effectively support frontline execution, develop talent, and help deliver consistent, high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Job Description
Operational Excellence
Support the Site Manager in monitoring performance metrics, identifying process improvements, and assisting with issue resolution that impacts service levels.
Assist in equipment inspections to ensure good working conditions and communicate repair needs to the Site Manager for vendor coordination.
Drive a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Monitor employee adherence to safety standards and report maintenance issues to the Site Manager.
People Development
Assist in training and managing drivers and site-level staff.
Assist in recruitment, hiring, team building, and mentoring of drivers and site-level staff. Customer & Vendor Relations Attend customer meetings alongside the Site Manager and help maintain positive customer relationships.
Ensure that all employees provide the highest level of service.
Team Leadership

Maintain up to date awareness of industry regulations and market trends to ensure compliance requirements and competitive presence/advantage.

Qualifications and Experience
Related field with 1+ year's previous business experience, ideally in supply chain, transportation, or related field. 1-2 years supervisory experience with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.
CDL A License required.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, E-Plan and Geotab
).
Understanding and prevention of critical safety issues.
Exceptional customer service orientation and rapport with customers and associates.
Must be willing to work days, weekends, and be "on call" as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience using or willingness to learn approved AI/LLM and automation tools is a plus.
Must be flexible and adaptive to the ever-changing market and Lazer Logistics objectives and goals.
Strong ethical and integrity code.
Ability to collaborate and work well in a fast-paced/dynamic team environment.
