The Personal Trainer is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and individualized personal training services that support member goals, exercise adherence, and long-term wellness. This role provides fitness assessments, goal-setting support, program design, exercise instruction, motivation, and ongoing progress tracking for personal training clients. The Personal Trainer helps members build confidence, improve fitness, use equipment safely, and stay connected to YMCA wellness programs and services.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Degree in physical education, exercise science, kinesiology, health promotion, or another health-related field preferred.
Professional experience in personal training, fitness coaching, strength and conditioning, or wellness preferred.
Strong knowledge of exercise science, program design, resistance training, cardiovascular training, mobility, functional movement, and safe exercise progression.
Ability to coach clients of varying ages, abilities, experience levels, and wellness goals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information of members, participants, families, and YMCA staff.
Administrative skills including the ability to maintain required program and department documentation and records.
Must obtain and maintain current CPR/ AED and First Aid certifications.
Must hold and maintain a nationally recognized personal training certification that meets YMCA requirements.
Completion of all position-specific and required YMCA training within established deadlines.
