The Sangamon County Court Services Department is accepting applications for a full-time position, contingent upon committee approval, for Detention Supervisor, at the Sangamon County Juvenile Detention Center. Applicants must have the ability to work all days and shifts as needed.
Responsibilities: Performs supervisory duties as well as intake services, custody services, and helping to plan, implement, and evaluate programming.
Requirements: Obtained a Master's Degree in management, public administration, criminal justice, or social services, and one or more years employed in juvenile detention/residential services or, a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and two or more years employed in court services, criminal justice, or social services, of which one year must be in juvenile detention/residential services. Must be on the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts hiring eligibility list at the time of employment offer. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a valid driver’s license. Must pass a criminal and DCFS background check as well as a drug screening.
Skills: Ability and desire to work with delinquent youth in a secure detention setting which may require physical restraint of minors; knowledge of the criminal justice system and ability to supervise staff.
Benefits: Annual salary range of $76,643.0 - $95,800.00 health, dental, and life insurance; pension plan; deferred compensation option; paid vacation, sick and personal time.
