The IUL Training Works Coordinator will provide intensive case management for IUL Training Works Program participants; administers career assessments; coordinates enrollment with local training providers; monitors client progress in training programs and initiates intervention; confirms training program completion; and assists with facilitating monthly work readiness workshops.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
§ Works closely with Training Works Program Manager to manage the Training Works Program and externship opportunities;
§ Assists with developing partnerships with new training programs;
§ Communicates with public and program participants via email and/or telephone about training opportunities;
§ Identifies training barriers and makes appropriate referrals to address and/or eliminate barriers;
§ Prepares and updates monthly program completion and job placements, and provides data monthly to Training Works Program Manager;
§ Facilitates during monthly Workforce Development programs on training opportunities, programs, and services;
§ Administers personality and career assessments to program participants and documents in files;
§ Enters training enrollments and completions into Efforts-to-Outcome (ET) database;
§ Assists participants with selecting training based on eligibility and suitability;
§ Assists participants with developing short and long-term goals, and Individualized Performance Plans (IPP) or the equivalent;
§ Works closely with onsite and local ABE programs to confirm enrollment and participant progress, completion of required “seat time,” and HSE attainments (if applicable);
§ Ensures all IUL Training Works applications are completed before enrollment into a training program;
§ Communicates with local training programs to confirm enrollment and program completion information;
§ Counsels program participants on training programs;
§ Works closely with Career Coaches for job placement after successful training completion;
§ Assist with referring participants to short-term internship opportunities
§ Provide retention services to program participants
§ Assist with nurturing training provider contacts
§ Conduct monthly follow-up with program participants
§ Attend workshops, seminars or conferences annually to further enhance skills, knowledge and capacity as Workforce Development Professional
§ Carry out other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) preferred from four-year college or university; or minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Knowledge of Spanish desirable but not required.
READING/COMPREHENSION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group and large group situations to customers and clients.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
