Link Solutions is seeking a Chief Infrastructure Engineer/Deputy PM to support the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Information Technology Modernization and Support Services program in Adelphi, MD.
- Active Secret clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- IAT Level II certification or higher per DoD 8570/8140 requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

The Chief Infrastructure Engineer/Deputy PM will serve as the senior infrastructure engineering advisor to Program Management and Government leadership. This hands-on technical leadership role will oversee enterprise infrastructure, datacenter operations, server administration, Active Directory, Nutanix, storage, networking, virtualization, cybersecurity, and hybrid cloud environments.
The ideal candidate is a senior infrastructure engineer with extensive experience designing, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise environments, along with experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineering teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide senior technical leadership for enterprise infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, and modernization initiatives.
- Lead architecture, engineering, and modernization efforts across Windows/Linux servers, Nutanix, virtualization, storage, networking, identity, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Oversee Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, authentication, and enterprise infrastructure services.
- Provide technical oversight of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, and network operations.
- Lead complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, capacity planning, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with RMF, Continuous ATO, STIGs, vulnerability management, and security-hardening requirements.
- Develop technical roadmaps and evaluate emerging technologies aligned with mission requirements.
- Mentor and provide technical oversight to systems administrators, network engineers, infrastructure engineers, and technical support personnel.
- Communicate technical risks, recommendations, and priorities to Government and program leadership.

Compensation & Schedule:
- Salary: $135,000–$175,000
- Employment: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, On-Site
- Location: Adelphi, MD
Several factors influence the final salary or hourly rate, including but not limited to contract wage determinations, relevant work experience, role-specific skills and competencies, geographic location, educational background, certifications, and federal government contract labor categories.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen.
- Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
- IAT Level II certification or higher in accordance with DoD 8570/8140 requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience supporting, engineering, administering, and leading enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
- Extensive experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
- Strong experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, identity management, and authentication.
- Experience with Nutanix AHV, VMware, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization/hyperconverged platforms.
- Experience with enterprise storage, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, business continuity, and datacenter operations.
- Experience with Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, including routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with endpoint management, patching, monitoring, systems administration, and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise infrastructure issues.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting environments with 1,000+ users.
- Experience as an Infrastructure Architect, Chief Infrastructure Engineer, Chief Systems Engineer, Technical Director, or similar senior technical role.
- Experience leading infrastructure engineering teams in DoD, Federal, research, or complex enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting classified/unclassified networks, research laboratories, or infrastructure modernization programs.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud and cybersecurity integration.
- Advanced certifications such as CISSP, PMP, CCSP, CCNP, Nutanix, Microsoft, Azure, AWS, or ITIL.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and technical leadership skills.
