We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional who is passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential through compassion, structure, and teamwork.
Position Summary
The Paraprofessional/Van Aide position supports students with special needs in both academic and behavioral settings under the direction of a teacher, therapist, or behavior analyst. This role involves assisting with classroom instruction, behavior support, data collection, and daily routines to help students develop communication, social, and academic skills. You will also serve as a Van Aide to assist with our transportation needs for our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students individually or in small groups during classroom, recess, lunch, and therapy activities.
- Support a small group of students in the van as we transport them to and from school.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under supervision.
- Collect data on academic and behavioral progress.
- Assist students with self-care, organization, and transitions throughout the day.
- Encourage positive social interactions and model appropriate communication and behavior.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and team members to maintain consistency in student support.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field (preferred).
- Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities (preferred).
- Ability to follow individualized plans and take direction from supervisory staff.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain any required clearances.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with mobility if needed.
- Ability to remain active, bend, kneel, or move throughout the day as needed for student support.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
