Assist in the delivery of primary health and patient care management.
Duties include but not limited to the following:

Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes paitent vital signs.

Administer and document medications.

Responds to patient calls with clinical questions.

Determines need/level of care for patients to be seen, i.e., office or hospital emergency department.

Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments.
-
Assist physicians and/or nurse practitioners in preparing for minor procedures, physicals, and any examination.
-
Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.
-
Stocks and maintains clinical supplies and equipment.
-
Maintains patient records, and other information.
-
Instructs patients regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.
-
Maintains patient confidentiality.
-
Performs related work as required.
-
Work at other KDMC Clinics as needed.
-
Perform phlebotomy, waived, and moderately complex lab testing.
- Completes lab test orders.
-
Performs lab specimen collection, labeling and results reporting.
-
Appropriately address specimen rejections.
-
Process quality controls, proficiency samples and patient samples.
-
Follow procedure for panic values.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
-
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
Experience
-
Two(2) years as an LPN in a clinic, physician office or ER preferred.
Certification
-
Current MS LPN licensure required.
-
Current CPR certification required.
-
Current MS State Department of Health TB certification or must obtain within one year of employment.
- Current Limited X-Ray Machine Opertor Permit issued by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure preferred.
Special Qualifications

Ability to follow directions and proper channels of communication.

Knowledge of clinic operations.

Open mindedness regarding cross-training in other areas of clinic operations.
