Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Solar Superintendent with a strong background in utility-scale solar projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage large-scale electrical construction operations, ensuring project success from inception through completion. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical construction teams on utility-scale solar projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
- Oversee the installation of electrical infrastructure including inverters, transformers, switchyards, and interconnection systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and schematics.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management software.
- Review construction drawings, schematics, and blueprints to verify accuracy and facilitate smooth execution of electrical work.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment using HeavyBid or equivalent estimating tools; ensure timely delivery to meet project deadlines.
- Enforce OSHA regulations and federal construction safety standards across all site activities; conduct safety audits and toolbox talks regularly.
- Supervise crews on-site, managing daily operations, quality control inspections, and troubleshooting technical issues with tools such as ohmmeters and other testing equipment.
- Monitor project budgets, track progress against schedules, and report on key performance indicators to stakeholders.
- Review contracts, manage change orders, and ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction safety regulations are followed; oversee quality control measures for electrical installations.
Skills
- Extensive experience in utility-scale solar electrical construction management with proven supervisory capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, and Primavera.
- Deep understanding of construction regulations such as OSHA standards and federal safety requirements specific to large-scale electrical projects.
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans for electrical systems.
- Proficient in managing project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation within complex pipeline projects.
- Excellent crew management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively on demanding sites while maintaining high safety standards.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and contract management for large infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read schematics accurately using testing tools like ohmmeters; experienced in supervising quality control procedures.
- Strong managerial communication skills for coordinating between multiple stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated experience supervising construction site activities while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations including OSHA guidelines for heavy electrical work.
