FLEET MECHANIC – Pay: $24.05-$29.80 per hour with verifiable experience
Pay: $31.05-$34.80 per hour with qualifying degree or verifiable experience
Job Description
- Inspect fleet equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repair
- Repair, replace, and adjust necessary units and parts
- Perform maintenance work to DOT standards for over the road equipment
- Perform general overhaul and repair work on gasoline, diesel, propane, and battery powered engines/equipment
- General repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units
- Perform preventative maintenance work on vehicles including lubrication, oil changes, and annual inspections
- Clean and maintain the work area and equipment
- Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed
Skills and Requirements
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to locate and resolve problems in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of standard practices, equipment, and tools of the fleet equipment trade
- Knowledge of forklift and automobile mechanical electrical systems
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to work independently or with help
- Basic welding and maintenance experience
- Ability to maintain Full time work schedule
- Must be able to work at faster pace
