Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our real estate/property management team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in financial software.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Conduct thorough general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Oversee budgeting processes and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, for efficient financial management.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive strategic initiatives.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Skills
- Proficient in debits and credits with a solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
- Strong experience in general ledger reconciliation and general ledger accounting practices.
- Familiarity with various financial software applications and accounting software tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Experience in budgeting processes and financial forecasting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
