American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position at a Level 1 Trauma facility in Arizona, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Level 1 Trauma background.

Acute care setting, Cardiac Telemetry unit (7NNA) with 24 beds
-
Patient population includes cardiac stepdown, chest pain, MI, pre-transplant, esophagectomy, ER overflow, detox, and lung transplant (travelers do not take transplant patients)
-
Non-titrating drips administered on the unit
-
Patient ratio is 1:3–4 depending on acuity
-
Philips telemetry monitors used; RNs are required to interpret EKGs
-
Ventilatory support includes CPAP and high-flow oxygen
-
EMR is Cerner with PCs in each room
-
12-hour day shifts, 7AM–7PM
-
4 weekend shifts required per 4-week period
-
Holidays worked into unit rotation
-
Float requirement to other telemetry units including T5, T6, and Neuro Tele
-
Charge nurse on unit; does not take a patient assignment except during high census
-
PCTs available — 2 on both days and nights
-
SWAT RN available for difficult IV access
-
Respiratory Therapy available 24/7

Pharmacy available 24/7, with a pharmacist on the floor during day shifts
-
13-week contract

Active AZ RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted

Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Level 1 Trauma experience required

EKG interpretation skills required

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver's license is used to verify permanent address

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to offer confirmation; two attempts allowed
-
3-day floor-specific orientation provided upon start
-
SIMs Lab required for all RNs on this unit: pass/fail skills assessment covering sterile Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes — nurses have been released during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field

A pass/fail exam on sterile technique is administered on day 1 of orientation

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

Navy scrubs required

Natural hair color required; facial piercings are not permitted

Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing

Travelers are required to have their own vehicle
