Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records, facilitate month-end close activities, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting and finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and resolve any discrepancies noticed.
Expected Qualifications & Skills -:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with 3-4 years of experience in an accounting.
- Solid understanding of GAAP &/or IFRS principles.
- Expected but not required – on hands experience with Great Plains accounting software.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel i.e. Pivot Table, V-lookup, H-Lookup etc.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Ability to work independently as part of a team, Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- In Office Job, No Work From Home, Job Hours - Weekdays M to F 8.00 am to 5.00pm PST
- Need to handle monthly Bank Reconciliation Statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and post monthly recurring as well as non recurring Journal entries as needed to keep G/L accounts UpToDate such as Health expenses, AMEX Corporate Card, Intercompany etc.
- Support the month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Handle Year end projects – complete process of 1099, filing Business Property Tax for the current locations etc.
- Collaborate with accounting and other departments / stations and make sure smooth to provide financial information and support as needed
- Stay current on accounting principles and regulations, assist with internal control, and recommend process improvements as needed
- Engage in ad hoc projects as needed by the manager.
