Role Description The Assistant Director is a full-time, on-site role located in Ely, NV, supporting the Chamber’s leadership in day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. This role assists with planning and executing events, coordinating member services, and managing communication with businesses, community organizations, and public agencies. The Assistant Director helps develop and implement programs that promote local economic development, including outreach campaigns, informational materials, and business support activities. Responsibilities include overseeing office administration, maintaining records and reports, updating digital and print communications, and supporting budgeting and grant-related activities. The role also involves representing the Chamber at meetings and community events, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring a consistent, professional presence in the community.
Qualifications
- Experience in business administration, nonprofit management, economic development, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational and project management abilities, including event coordination and program implementation.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools and basic digital communication platforms (e.g., email, social media, websites).
- Ability to work on-site in Ely, NV, with reliability, initiative, and a collaborative approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, or related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Knowledge of or interest in rural and regional economic development is beneficial.
- Previous experience in a chamber of commerce, community organization, or member-based association is a plus.
Pay: From $24,000.00 per year
