JOB
The Office Assistant plays an integral role in supporting the daily operations of TJC North. This individual will contribute to the daily operations of the site, including opening and closing the building and serving as the primary point of contact for students, staff, and visitors during their shift. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and customer service skills and a strong attention to detail.
This position requires availability between the hours of 5 pm - 9 pm, Monday through Thursday.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

Responsible for opening the building during assigned shifts, ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Performs routine walkthroughs, ensuring the building is safe, clean, and operational, and reports issues to appropriate personnel.

Serves as the initial point of contact for TJC North by answering phones, greeting visitors, managing the department email inbox, and working with various departments within TJC.

Performs office duties such as managing building signage, ordering and storing supplies/swag, copying, printing, and maintaining an organized workspace.

Assists with events relating to academic programs, workshops, or other special events at TJC North.

Coordinates with faculty and staff to address program needs during operational hours.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Environment: Work may be required outside of normal business hours and is performed in an environment that may include regular exposure to animals.
Physical Demands: Sitting, walking, standing, repetitive typing, lifting (~35lbs)
Travel Required: No
If travel is required, the candidate must have and maintain a current, valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
