SUMMARY:

The Estimating Manager is responsible for leading the overall management of the bid process for a project. The role is responsible for understanding the deliverables, developing a work plan, and identifying resources required, while coordinating with internal teams to ensure compliance with the Request for Proposals (RFP).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or related field, or equivalent relevant experience

At least five (5) years’ experience in estimating for commercial construction

Experience leading bids and trade coordination

Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction management, including safety, quality, constructability and sustainability standards

Leadership level communication and organization skills

TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Leads bid / GMP assembly with minimal guidance; manages all bid day activities including compiling all deliverables and submitting responses

Prepares detailed estimates at all phases of design; proficient in divisions 3 – 16 (including division 2 for Base Building)

Manages all bid day activities including compiling all deliverables and submitting responses

Leads and coordinates scope writing and qualification development; manages and coordinates divisions 2, 15, 16

Leads constructability reviews; leads the development of specific systems analyses and creation of Value Engineering and Alternates lists / logs

Assists with strategy development for GMP’s and competitive bids

Participates in project meetings and client presentations; attends pre-bid meetings and lead trade partner walk-throughs; leads bid presentations

Owns responsibility for overall for trade partners / supplier coverage and effective communication and management; identifies and aligns the most qualified trade partners for the market sector and scope

Manages the overall document distribution process (RFI’s, Addenda, etc.)

Counsels, educates and coaches staff to help them develop necessary job skills

Builds relationships with trade partners / suppliers, clients and design teams

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is

$105,000.00 - $135,000.00
