We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. - Trauma/emergency assessnt, rapid interventions experience.
Duties
- Deliver urgent and emergent nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions in fast-paced emergency room settings.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage airway patency, ventilators, and other life-support equipment during critical situations.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and wound care with precision and adherence to infection control standards.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Triage incoming patients efficiently to prioritize care based on severity of condition.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations including laboratory tests, imaging procedures (such as CT scans), and specimen collection.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during stressful situations.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies at all times.
- Support the continuity of care through discharge planning and coordination with post-acute services such as hospice or long-term care facilities.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state or country.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in emergency room or Level I/II trauma center environments.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
- Strong knowledge of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), basic life support (BLS), neonatal resuscitation procedures (NRP), and trauma medicine protocols.
- Experience with critical care procedures including ventilator management, ICU interventions, and trauma response.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Competence in performing invasive procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and tube feeding management.
- Knowledge of infectious disease control practices and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork across multidisciplinary teams.
- Additional experience preferred in ophthalmology, occupational health, pediatric emergencies, or geriatrics.
