Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious CDL Class A Driver to join our transportation team! Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials, and logistics cargo will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and roll-off trucks, on over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries
- Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely and efficient deliveries across multiple destinations
- Load and unload freight manually or with forklift assistance, adhering to proper cargo handling procedures
- Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations during all operations
- Transport automobile parts or other specialized cargo with precision and care, ensuring the safety of hazardous goods when applicable
- Perform pre-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure
- Document delivery activities accurately, including logs, delivery receipts, and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks preferred
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance standards
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely
- Proven experience in delivery driving within logistics or freight industries
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution
- Certification in Hazmat handling is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain required certifications is expected
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and cargo security protocols
