Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Traditional Life Insurance Underwriter to join our team. This role is responsible for evaluating insurance applications, analyzing medical information, and assessing risk to support sound underwriting decisions and profitable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough, high-quality risk evaluations of insurance applications
- Review and interpret medical exams, attending physician statements, claim records, and other health-related documentation
- Analyze applicant data to assess health status and identify potential underwriting risks
- Apply company guidelines, industry tools, and underwriting best practices to determine appropriate risk classification
- Evaluate the likelihood and potential cost of claims to support informed decision-making
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately interpret group medical and insurance data
- Proven experience in risk assessment and underwriting decision-making
- Solid understanding of medical terminology, conditions, and treatments relevant to underwriting
- High level of computer proficiency, with the ability to learn and navigate multiple systems (10+ platforms)

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
