Job Description

File documents with courts including pleadings, motions, answers, discovery, orders, etc.;

Client billing, conflict checking, file opening, and file maintenance;

Coordinate and schedule meetings with internal and external entities;

Assist with trial preparation/coordination;
-
Proofread, draft, and send correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents;
-
Bates numbering/labeling documents;
-
Calendar deadlines;
-
Ensure that attorney time sheets are entered in a timely manner;
-
Typing, filing, photocopying, etc., as time permits and as requested;
-
Productive and amicable collaboration with coworkers;
-
Provide legal support to a diverse population across dynamic settings;
-
Independently manage time, including the ability to assess priorities and meet deadlines with short notice;

Maintain courteous interactions and provide efficient service to internal and external entities;
-
Follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of attorneys, clients and staff;
-
Other duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsExperience
-
High School Diploma or GED;
-
1 - 3 years of experience providing legal support in mid-size or large-size law firm;

Must have excellent organizational skills; demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and flexibility, be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task legal environment;

Ability to maintain client confidentiality;

Solid working knowledge of general office procedures and office equipment;

Computer literacy including strong skills in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word;

Ability to remain focused and perform essential duties despite time constraints and interruptions;
-
Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently.
Preferred QualificationsExperience
-
Business school/college certificate(s) or degree(s);
-
Working knowledge of a document management system.
Schedule:
7.5 hour shift | On-site | Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
