Our Sanitation team performs a variety of essential tasks to assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment that allows us to produce safe and high-quality cheese and yogurt products. Sanitation team member responsibilities include activities such as cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and work areas in the facility using brushes, hoses, and chemical cleaning agents. Sanitation team members will utilize detergents, sanitizers, brushes, and high-pressure hoses to clean production equipment and rooms in assigned areas. These roles are critical in meeting the highest food safety standards.
Shifts Available:
Sanitation Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform cleaning and sanitation of all areas in the food manufacturing facility, utilizing brushes, hoses and chemical cleaning agents, including production lines, equipment, tools, floors, walls, and storage areas.

Follow standard cleaning procedures and guidelines to meet food safety regulations and maintain a sanitary environment.

Safely and efficiently handle and use cleaning agents, sanitizers, and equipment effectively and safely to achieve optimal cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination.

Remove waste and debris from production areas and dispose of it in designated containers according to waste management protocols.

Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for proper cleaning and sanitization.

Monitors or conducts chemical test levels on COP and CIP tanks daily.

Monitor flow rates, time, temperature, steps and conductivity of CIP system.

Ensure chemical containers are properly labeled, remove and store empty containers properly.

Documents cleaning activities, including logs, checklist, and records, as required by regulatory agencies and internal quality control standards.

Adhere to all food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations. (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)

Adheres to safety guidelines and complies with all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Physical Abilities:
-
Previous experience operating packaging machinery in a manufacturing or food processing environment is preferred but not required.

The ability to safely operate electric pallet jacks.

Ability to read and interpret work instructions.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.

Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Ability to work overtime or extended shifts as needed.

Ability to adhere to strict personal hygiene practices, including wearing designated work attire and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping and lifting up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls.

Constantly required to talk and hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus naturally or with correction.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Constantly exposed to a moderate level of noise that may make it difficult to concentrate. Constantly exposed to warm, wet, humid, slippery conditions, and at times a cold environment. Occasionally exposed to food grade chemicals required for proper sanitation. Frequently exposed odors and air particulates related to the cheese and yogurt making processes.
