The Sandwich Artist® greets and serves guests, prepares products, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional guest service is a major component of this position.
Available shifts may fall between 6:00 AM and 12:30 AM and vary by location and business needs. Open/flexible availability required.
Responsibilities
- Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately.
- Uses the Point of Sale (POS) system/cash register to record orders, calculate the amount of the bill, collect payments, and make change.
- Performs Cash-In Procedures, accounting for all forms of money, bread, and other required inventory during the shift.
- Prepares food neatly, according to Subway® formulas and standards, and in a timely manner.
- Checks products in the sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure sufficient supply throughout the shift.
- Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards during food preparation, service, and cleanup.
- Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean and welcoming environment. Understands and adheres to the Wash, Rinse, and Sanitize method of cleaning.
- Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas, and procedures as outlined in the Subway® Operations Manual: Daily Procedures.
- Maintains a professional appearance and follows grooming standards as outlined in the Subway® Operations Manual: Daily Procedures.
- Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
- Completes SubU® courses and other required training as directed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support store operations and team success.
Prerequisites
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience & Skills: No previous experience required. Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions. Must be comfortable working independently, including during periods when scheduled alone, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Availability & Reliability: Must maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, including arriving on time and prepared to work all scheduled shifts. Availability requirements may vary based on store and business needs and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical: Must be able to work in any area of the restaurant when needed and operate a computerized Point of Sale (POS) system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking throughout the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
