Northbrook Montessori Schools is seeking a Lead Teacher for our Infant and Toddler Programs (0-36 months) who is dedicated to the care and educational needs of children, has excellent interpersonal skills and can effectively collaborate with students, parents and staff to create an enriching classroom environment. This candidate must be Illinois DCFS lead teacher qualified. A Montessori Infant/Toddler certification by a MACTE-accredited Montessori training program is preferred but not required. Ideally, we would like our lead teacher to have some experience as a lead teacher at the Infant or Toddler level. Most of all we are looking for someone who is as passionate about Montessori as we are!
Job Responsibilities Include:
-Ability to commit to schedule, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
-Communicate effectively and peacefully with students, assistant teachers, administration, and other staff members
-Assist and maintain a peaceful and mindful learning environment for students
-Consistently present Montessori materials to students and track progress
-Participate in required professional development and training programs throughout the year
-Observe student behaviors and step in when appropriate
-Submit and maintain student records on Kangarootime
-Attend and participate in meetings and training when needed
-Preparing, creating, organizing and cleaning the classroom environment and materials daily
-Consistently communicating student progress or concerns with parents, administration, and other staff when appropriate
-Comfortable with receiving feedback from other teacher and administration
-Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements Include:
-Submit 3 reference letters upon hire
-Willing to stand for long periods of time
-Ability to lift 30lbs
-Ability to move from seated to standing position quickly to attend to student's needs
-Ability to pass a background check and TB test
-Minimum education of a High School Diploma and
1) Sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or
2) One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
