Come join our warm, Christ-centered (in-home) preschool community as a Part-Time Classroom Support Helper, where your energy, compassion, and dedication help create a nurturing environment for young learners. In this role, you will assist the lead teacher with day-to-day classroom routines, hands-on child supervision, and maintaining a smooth, organized preschool environment.
This is a support-focused role, ideal for someone who loves children, wants hands-on experience in a faith-based preschool, and enjoys being part of a team that fosters growth, curiosity, and positive social interactions. You will help care for children as young as 12 months old who are walking to Pre-K age children, including during outdoor play, lunch, nap routines, and Water Wednesdays aka splash days.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with transitions, indoor and outdoor play, and daily routines
- Support children during snack, lunch, and nap preparation
- Help care for children 5 years old and younger (diapering, bottle feeding, soothing, handwashing)
- Have fun and be playful during free play and outdoor exploration
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment at all times
- Help prep activityes and curriculum
- Set up and clean art activities, toys, and learning materials
- Support special classroom events such as Friday splash days and weekly cleaning routines
- Encourage positive social interactions and model patience, kindness, and Christian values
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff regarding classroom routines and safety
- Follow all Texas childcare licensing standards and classroom safety protocols
- Participate in other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- 21 years or older
- At least 1 year of experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or school setting
- Comfortable caring for children 1 to 5 years old
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and positive guidance strategies
- Ability to manage groups of children safely and proactively
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days).
- CDA required within the first 6 months
- Alignment with our Christian faith and the ability to model Christ-centered behavior in the classroom
- Reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic team player
- Hours of operation: 7:45 AM to 5:45 PM (Working hours 8:30 to 4:30 M-F, with flexibility to close at least two Fridays a month)
