Overview

Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Operate and set up various fabrication machinery including press brake machines, CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining equipment.
- Fabricate sheet metal components by cutting, bending, forming, welding, and assembling parts with precision using hand tools and tooling.
- Program and operate CNC machinery such as laser cutters and milling machines to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
- Conduct quality inspections utilizing micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols involving cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment; perform routine equipment inspections.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and troubleshoot fabrication issues promptly to minimize delays.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and machinery operation.
- Skilled in using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.
- Experience operating CNC laser cutting systems, CNC programming, plasma cutting tools, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, electrical discharge machining equipment, cranes, forklifts, and other manufacturing machinery.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for precise manufacturing.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to fabrication tasks.
- Familiarity with welding techniques and assembly procedures for sheet metal components.
- Understanding of safety protocols related to machining operations and heavy equipment handling.
